Policy Coherence is Viewed as Key to Achieving MDGs

A team of researchers led by Francois Bourguignon has released its findings in a new report, The Millennium Development Goals at Midpoint: Where Do We Stand and Where Do We Need to Go?” The paper was presented in at the European Development Days conference in November. It looks at progress made to date and the way forward given the new economic situation. It also highlights a special role for the European Union.

Asia-Pacific Forum Highlights Best Practices from Country Gateways

Representatives of Country Gateways based in the Asia-Pacific region are meeting this week in Hanoi . The purpose of the gathering is to capture experiences from across the Country Gateways network and determine if they are applicable in other countries. Participants will also be asked to assess their contribution to socio-economic development in their respective countries. One anticipated outcome is an action plan for future network collaboration. Staff from Development Gateway and local and regional partners are attending this week-long forum, hosted by the Vietnam Development Gateway.
