InterAction Forum 2009 begins July 6
The InterAction Forum allows participants across the nonprofit, government, and for-profit sectors to discuss international development and humanitarian aid. Development Gateway will have a booth at the forum each day and on Tuesday July 7, Development Gateway’s Vanessa Goas will present “Tackling the Aid Information Challenge” to highlight the successes and utility of AMP. Latin America's prospects in the global economic crisis
Latin America faces divergent paths in coping with the economic crisis, especially Chile, Mexico, and Venezuela. This report, prepared by Oxfam with information from the World Bank, IMF, and the Economist, highlights the difficulties facing Latin America countries, particularly in the areas of commodity prices and remittances. The report sees the larger economies as better able to cope with this shock, notably Chile.
